Read beyond the rows.
A field guide to six straight-line fruit names in the eight-by-eight grid.
The word follows a straight line.
Worked example · not your current boardStart with an unusual letter
The G in GRAPE or H in PEACH can help you narrow the search. APPLE and BERRY also offer repeated letters to notice. These are observation cues, not a rule about where a word must appear.
Select the endpoints
Choose the first and last letter of the word. Either order works, including for a backwards word. The game checks the straight line between the two choices, so a word cannot turn a corner.
Scan every direction
Rows, columns and both diagonals can hold a name. A rejected selection does not spend money or a timed chance; use what you saw and look elsewhere.
Use the keyboard deliberately
Tab into the board, move focus with arrow keys and use Enter to select an endpoint. Escape clears the starting selection. Finding all six names completes the page; New word page starts a different puzzle.
